CPSP releases its 2025 Annual Report

We are delighted to announce that our 2025 Annual Report has been published and is available to download and read.

It has been another busy year for the team as we continue our work to reduce the number of pesticide suicides worldwide.

Key highlights include:

  • 15,000 Key highlights include:
  • 8 highly hazardous pesticides banned
  • Working in 30 countries and 15 new projects launched.
  • 9 publications in academic journals.
  • Over 12 film screenings across the world.
  • Attendance and participation at over 25 international events

Professor Michael Eddleston, CPSP Director, said:

“This year, our team has grown in reach, expertise and numbers.
In particular, we have deepened our work across Africa and South America
with new projects and partnerships in over a dozen countries.
Some major moments over the year included carbosulfan being listed in
Annex III of the Rotterdam Convention, Pakistan and South Africa banning
pesticides following years of advocacy and evidence from Nepal showing
that suicide deaths have fallen after regulatory action.

But this work is far from over. Toxic pesticides remain easily available,
especially in rural areas of low- and middle-income countries and
meaningful change takes time, trust, and strong partnerships – all of which
have strengthened this year.

Our guiding belief is that all pesticide poisoning deaths are preventable
and those most affected should lead the solutions. To every partner,
colleague and friend of CPSP – thank you. This work only moves forward
because we work together to save lives.”
