Jenny Rönngren

Jenny Rönngren has more than 20 years experience in pesticide and chemicals management and highly hazardous pesticides (HHPs) risk management in Southeast Asia and Africa.

She is an ecotoxicologist by training and has worked for the Swedish Chemicals Agency (KEMI) with development and implementation of regulations on pesticides and other chemicals for many years. She has experience from work on national, regional and global level in partnerships with other government agencies, CSOs and UN organizations such as FAO and UNEP. Her experience ranges from risk assessment of pesticides to development of regulations and resource efficient processes to implement such regulations. She has recently supported the government of Zambia to improve their regulatory framework on pesticides as well as strengthen the responsible Agency’s technical capacity to assess and manage pesticides and other hazardous chemicals.

Her work at CPSP focuses on building national and regional capacity to regulate, replace, and monitor HHPs in selected countries in Eastern and Southern Africa.
