Elaine Acosta has over 12 years of experience in issues related to sound management of pesticide at an international level.
She has worked on several projects in Latin America and the Caribbean focused on the reduction or elimination of highly hazardous pesticides and on projects that promoted the search for sustainable alternatives to these substances, primarily with an emphasis on agroecology.
Elaine was the coordinator of technical assistance projects for the Rotterdam Convention in Latin America for over 9 years, as well as for sustainable agriculture projects in Mesoamerica. She has a degree in agricultural engineering with an emphasis on Natural Resource Management, a master’s in management and improvement of agro-resources, and an international master’s in Toxicology.
